Hey everyone — LoneSouls here with a fresh update and a few behind-the-scenes notes. The first public release had some hiccups, but I’ve been deep in the lab reworking, refining, and adding new layers to the chaos.

⚠️ What Was Off:

  • Missing loading screen system caused occasional crashes
  • UI overlays (HP bars, etc.) were glitching out
  • Turret leveling was capped too low for real survival
  • Credit system was outdated — pulled from older builds and needed a refresh

🔧 What’s New:

  • Loading screen system added — smoother startup, no more crash roulette
  • UI overlay logic reworked — HP bars and elements now behave properly
  • Turret level cap increased to 5 — unleash the full arsenal
  • 50-wave gauntlet mode added — pure tower defense brutality
  • New skybox — gives the battlefield a richer, more immersive feel
  • Credits system updated — now reflects the current build and dev structure
  • Custom grass assets — yep, even the blades are hand-crafted 😎

🧪 Still in Progress:

  • Final polish on UI layering
  • Additional turret upgrade feedback
  • Visual clarity for boss waves and damage indicators
  • Tower units still in refinement — working within upload limits to fine-tune models, animations, and effects. They’re functional, but not fully unleashed yet.

🐛 Known Issues:

  • UI/Damage overlays follow camera incorrectly in overhead view When switching to overhead cam while looking directly at enemies, the dynamic HP bars and damage indicators follow the camera awkwardly. If you look away from the action before switching views, it behaves normally.
    • No performance impact
    • Only affects visuals
    • Suspected cause: tag or layer misbehavior — hardcoded to only show in first-person, but something’s slipping through
    • Fix pending (once I get some sleep 😅)

🔮 Coming Soon:

  • 🧨 Player weapons — fight alongside your towers with direct combat options
  • 🌐 Upgrade system — persistent progression that carries across wave maps
  • 🧠 Commander system — choose from different commanders with unique buffs (e.g. tower regen, starting upgrades)
  • 🎮 Expanded arcade vibe — story elements are still TBD, but the focus remains on fast, replayable action
  • 💬 Community ideas welcome — still shaping the long-term vision, so if you’ve got doable suggestions, I’m listening

🧠 Dev Notes:

This update isn’t just bug fixes — it’s a peek into the kind of obsessive detail going into CORECOLLAPSE DARKWAVE. From the skybox to the grass, every piece is being shaped to fit the world I’m building. The credit system is evolving too, pulled from past projects and reworked to match this game’s identity.

The tower units are still getting their final polish — I’m threading the needle between quality and upload limits, so expect more visual and functional upgrades soon.
